  • Photographic ID such as a driver’s license, passport, National ID Card, or public service card
  • A valid PPS number
  • You must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the training course

The course starts at 8 am sharp and ends at approximately 5 pm. Registration begins at 7.30 am, so please arrive early to complete the registration process.

A SOLAS Safe Pass Card is issued upon successful completion of the one-day Safe Pass training program. SOLAS issues this card within 3-4 weeks from the course date, and it is valid for 4 years from the training date.

The course requires a minimum of 8 participants and can accommodate a maximum of 10.

The Safe Pass Training Course should be renewed every 4 years.

Yes, there is mutual recognition between the UK’s CSR and Ireland’s SOLAS Safe Pass. The one-day UK CSR health and safety course is recognized as equivalent to the one-day SOLAS Safe Pass course. To transfer cards, contact SOLAS or CSR at

Currently, the Safe Pass course is not available online. SOLAS insists that the course must be tutor-led and there are no plans to offer it online.
